Political Action

CNSP is primarily involved in humanitarian activities and the struggle for human rights.

Activities in Nepal

In Nepal CNSP is working with The Women's Foundation of Nepal which works for the Solidarity and Development of Women and Child Haven International which supports orphanages in four countries.

The Women's Foundation is part of a network of groups in Nepal which strives to help support shelters for victims of rape and assault. These groups are heavily involved with problems devolving from the sex trade, especially with prostitutes from India. They represent an extended education and human rights network. They are also connected to groups working on injustice issues in agriculture, and especially organic farming.

Activities in Canada

In Canada CNSP focuses on four areas:

1) Educational programs to provide information about Nepal; Power Point presentations, web site, lobby and educate Parliamentarians, conferences.

2) Helping Nepalese people who are refugees in Canada by providing emotional support, overnight emergency telephone centre, direct consultations, recommending ethical lawyers to help with immigration paperwork, help with legal aid, researching the costs of lawyers and legal aid and being able to finance their own immigration process (the existing process is numbing for most refugees), petitions, references, letters, concrete support from the beginning.

3) Funding/grants for target organizations organizations sharing our same goals rather than duplicating efforts.

4) Establishing and funding a foundation to support the work of the organization.
