Gathering Dung for Fuel - School Only a Dream
From a letter by Renu Sharma of the Women's Foundation of Nepal . . . . These two pictures show girls carrying some baskets on their heads. They are carrying cow dung. Since they were three years old, they have collected the dung in the fields. The girls will make the dung into pizza like shapes and dry it in the sun. After it has dried their families will use it as fire wood. Because they have no money to buy kerosene and fire wood, these girls have to work at collecting dung, shaping and drying it. For these girls, school is only a dream.
